The report is based on a study conducted among 30 Bedouin women, most of whom are residents of unrecognized villages in the Negev/Naqab, who participate in the “Employment Circles” program conducted by the Israeli Employment Services under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Industry. The goal of the program is the prevention of long-term unemployment by way of providing various workshops and activities. The interviews conducted in this study reveal that women participating in the program suffer from a lack of education, skills and employment, along with difficulties in finding childcare and appropriate transportation. It was also found that the program is not suitable for their special needs and does not facilitate their integration into the labor market.
